5 Best Countries to Visit in South America

South America is the third most visited continent in the world: behind Europe and North America. I will be listing the best countries to visit in South America.

1. Brazil
Maceio, Brazil

I started with the largest country in South America. So what?
Brazil is a great place full of food, fun, and history. It has clear waters, lush Amazon forests, and big cities. Brazil is a really great place to visit, and when you're there, you'll learn so much about its culture and history.

2. Ecuador
Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

Ecuador is a great place. Like Brazil, it has amazingly clear waters and lush forests, but it's missing the big cities. Even its largest city, Quito, only has a population of over one million people. That's what makes Ecuador so special: It's very preserved and natural. It also has the beautiful Galapagos Islands and two UNESCO world heritage sites. The Galapagos have some of the richest history  in the world.

3. Peru
Machu Picchu, Peru

Peru's shining gem is Machu Picchu. Machu Picchu is also one of the seven wonders of the world. Peru is a very historical, beautiful place to visit. Fun Fact: Lima, the capital has a whopping population of 10 million people. It has Ancient Inca history and awesome food.

4. Argentina
Andes Mountains, Argentina

Argentina is the place where you get great food, history, and you get to see amazing places. The Andes Mountains run on its border to Chile. The city of Buenos Aires is a one of a kind place with its tall buildings and artsy bridges.

5. Chile
Patagonia National Park, Chile

There is so, so, so much to do in Chile. From the driest desert in the world, the Atacama (you probably thought it was the Sahara, but no) to the lake filled Patagonia National Park. The Andes Mountains have splendid scenery, and the buildings and sites of the capital, Santiago are wonderful.
